Weather Questions

In the event of class being cancelled due to weather, all families will be informed with a phone call and email. Once the facility availability has been confirmed, an email will be sent with the make up day. We always try to schedule the make up day one week after the original scheduled last day.

Every effort will be made to hold a make up class. However, in the rare event that there is not facility space or available days, Rookie Sports Club is not responsible for refunds from cancelled classes due to acts of nature.

Safety First

The only more important to us beyond providing a fun program is providing a safe program. Background checks are required for all coaches. Once hired, we require training in CPR and concussion protocols. All of our coaches carry a first aid kit.

Ohio Youth Concussion

Ohio’s Return-to-Play law (Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 3313.539 or Ohio Revised Code (ORC)  3314.03) requires that Ohio youth athletes who are suspected of sustaining a concussion, MUST be removed from practice or play. Ohio laws prohibit a child to return to play (practice or competition) on the same day that he/she is removed on suspicion of having sustained a concussion. He/she may return the following day if cleared in writing by a physician (MD or DO) or other authorized healthcare provider that he/she did not sustain a concussion.

FAQ’s

What is the procedure for inclement weather?

If we know the weather is going to cause an issue prior to class starting, we will notify parents via email and text about a class cancellation. Sometimes, the weather turns against us as the program is starting or ongoing, in those cases, the Lead Coach will make the call on site.

What is the policy regarding class cancellations and make up classes?

Generally, we will add an additional week to your child’s program to make up for any weather cancellations.

I.e., a program that was scheduled to end on 9/7 and had a class cancellation will now end on 9/14.

Are there games and practices?

Our programs are structured to have fun based drills, skill work, and modified gameplay (non-competitive). There are no “formal” games.

Can we bring our own equipment?

Yes, however, you are responsible for your equipment.
